About Erika Raffle-Currie

I have been working at a North West University in Administration since 2004, dealing mainly with programme administration for undergraduate, postgraduate, collaborative and international students. I have a multi-faceted role, in that I work in a school office, and also in the faculty timetabling office. I have undertaken post graduate study whilst working full time, and have also spent some time as a sessional lecturer alongside my administrative role. I enjoy working in Higher Education; I very much feel this is where I belong, and I am working towards making the leap from Administration to Academia. I will be working on a PhD from this year and hoping to move in to lecturing and research – fulfilling the career dream! I have a lot of experience of a career within Higher Education; the changes, the challenges, re-structuring and re-alignment. I hope to bring readers an insight into the trials and tribulations of a Higher Education support worker endeavouring to climb the ladder.
