About Brian Poole

Brian Poole began his working life as a Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) English language teacher in northern Nigeria and has had a peripatetic career ever since. He has been a lecturer at the University of Surrey and the University of Portsmouth, but has spent the majority of his time in colleges and universities in countries such as Fiji, Thailand, Oman and Singapore. He is currently working at the newly-formed English Language Institute of Singapore (ELIS) and, in spare time enjoys writing poetry, keeping fit, and reading history and biography.
