i would like to know more about the medical test prior to Obtianing the residency permession, what kind of tests i should go through and what for? is it only Blood test or urine tests also?

Hi Alexandria,

first of all I would like to thank you for this thread, lots of important questions are answered here, thank you for your patience and efforts!

I am going for a job interview this weekend in Doha and there’s one question no one asked before: how are women treated in Qatar? Is Doha a safe place to live -for a woman alone. I have a dog that I would not like to leave behind, here in Budapest she comes with me to work, I never leave her alone. what do you think / feel, is it likely or not likely that I could have my dog there with me?

Hello, Alexandria. Reading your posts was pretty enlightening to me. My boyfriend is consedering a job offer from a Qatari company, and since we’re not married we’re worried that it won’t be possible for me to live there with him if I don’t find a job first. And you’ve just confirmed it in point 3. Thanks for all the information provided.

thank you for your informative weblog,
I am an Iranian single women, got an offer to work in Doha, but im not sure if I have to wear hijab(or cover up) there as I am Muslim (in my ID) !!! I mean is there any rule that all Muslim women have to cover up there, or the rule applies to local Muslim women only?(Malaysia is also a Muslim country but i don’t have to wear hijab there)

I have been trying to get a job in Qatar. I am a Petroleum Inspector and I see adverts for Petroleum inspectors in Qatar. I have applied for a couple of them but have not heard from them. I am suspecting that its because I am not resident in Qatar. I am in Nigeria. Could that be the cause?
