The Czech railways network links it with its neighbours Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Austria. They are run by a single company known as CD. Prague is the only city with an underground system, but several cities have tram systems such as Prague, Brno and Liberec.

There was a large increase in road transport volume in the 1980s and 1990s leading to increasing danger on the roads. The main roads in the country are divided into motorways and expressways. The speed limit on both is 80 mph. There are six international airports in the Czech republic.
