Catherine Haines in the Assistant Professor for Medical Education in the Medical School at the University of Nottingham, leading modules on the Masters in Medical Education. She has devised and run professional development courses for academics across the UK for over 20 years, specialising in teaching, writing, personal and career development. For ten years she delivered all career development courses for contract researchers across the UK for the Medical Research Council. Her publications include a book 'Assessing Students' Written Work', and a variety of articles on managing academics and student learning in higher education. She has an MA in creative writing and writes short stories and novels.
