London Metropolitan University was created on 1 August 2002 by the merger of London Guildhall University (now London City campus) and the University of North London (now London North campus). Prior to the merger both institutions had long histories of providing quality education in the City and north and east London.

London Metropolitan University aims to provide education and training from further education through to postgraduate level which will help students to achieve their potential and London to succeed as a world city. It is and will continue to be the major provider of business and vocational education for the City and north and east London. The University recognises and celebrates London as a dynamic and diverse city, but also one that contains poverty and discrimination, which the University must confront and combat.

London Metropolitan University is one of the foremost providers of undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and vocational education and training in Britain. Our courses are planned in consultation with employers and examining bodies in commerce, industry, the world of art and design, the financial services industries and the professions. The end result is high quality courses that are of direct relevance to their field.
