About the University of Nottingham
The University of Nottingham is one of the world's leading universities, with award winning campuses in Nottingham UK, Malaysia and The People's Republic of China. Our aim is to provide the finest possible environment for teaching, learning and research and we have an impressive track record of success across all areas. To maintain this we need enthusiastic and committed staff to join the 6,700 plus staff we currently employ in a variety of roles.
The University of Nottingham is confirmed in the intercontinental higher education elite in global and national University tables published in 2008. The established world rankings tables compiled by both the Times Higher Education and Shanghai Jiao Tong University rank Nottingham as a World Top 100 institution - i.e. in the top 1% of universities globally - while The Sunday Times puts the University in 8th place among British universities based on overall performance over the last ten years.
The results of the Research Assessment Exercise 2008 confirm the University of Nottingham's status as a world-class institution carrying out research of international quality. According to RAE 2008 data, more than 90 per cent of our research is of international quality, with almost 60 per cent of all research defined as 'world-leading' or 'internationally excellent'.
According to The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2009, our "teaching and research excellence spans all disciplines" and that we have 33 top-rated teaching subjects, which puts us in the top 3 in the UK by this measure.
In summary, these achievements along with attractive campus surroundings, state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities, and a wide range of leisure activities create an excellent working and development environment for all employees.
