Environmental Economist (Climate Change)
We seek an environmental/natural resource economist to join a team working on understanding and modelling mitigation and adaptation responses to climate change by the rural sector, including appraisal of renewable energy options, both in Scotland and more widely. You will have a PhD in environmental/natural, resource/climate change economics or equivalent research experience.
Environmental Economist
The remit of this post is to investigate the economics of alternative carbon reduction strategies, appraise alternative renewable energy options and assess the effectiveness of different policies in transitioning to a low carbon economy. Applicants should have a good understanding of quantitative appraisal techniques and have an awareness of the strengths and weaknesses of alternative policy instruments to address GHG reduction. An ability to critically interrogate data sources on GHG use and impacts, appraise GHG reduction strategies and apply economic evaluation techniques at national, regional and local level is desirable.
Starting salary within the range £26,610 - £29,566 per annum with excellent employee benefits.
