e2v Research Fellowships
Planetary and Space Sciences Research Institute, Faculty of Science
£29,704 - £43,622 Ref: 6315, (two positions available)
Based in Milton Keynes
Temporary contract for 5 years
We seek to appoint two active researchers into five year fellowships to work on the development of imaging detectors and sensors, instrumentation and methodologies for a variety of applications ranging from space science and Earth observation to medical imaging. You will be based in the Centre for Electronic Imaging (CEI) within the Institute.
We are seeking exceptional individuals with knowledge and experience of research into imaging detectors for space instruments. One post is available to candidates who have recently completed a PhD, and the other is available to candidates who have a PhD plus postdoctoral experience in a relevant discipline (e.g. physics or electronic engineering). The work will benefit from collaboration with e2v Ltd, a world-leading supplier of CCD and CMOS imagers.
You will have good team working and inter-personal skills, including a demonstrable ability to drive novel imaging detector R&D, attract grant income and produce quality published outputs. Whilst the current activities of the CEI have a strong background in space science, we would consider applications from individuals from other imaging disciplines such as synchrotron or environmental and Earth observation imaging. We would particularly welcome applications from individuals with experience of CMOS design.
