UHI Millennium Institute (UHI) provides university-level education through a unique partnership of thirteen colleges and research institutions located throughout the Highlands & Islands. The Department of Diabetes and Cardiovascular Science at the UHI Millennium Institute in Inverness, Scotland has recently established a Lipidomics Research Facility. The group is focussed on the application of advanced lipid profiling strategies to investigate human disease states with a specific interest in diabetes, cardiovascular disease, inflammation and oxidative stress.
We are seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to join our well resourced laboratory to develop mass spectrometric methods for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of lipids and related metabolites in biological matrices. The position will also involve the processing, statistical analysis and interpretation of lipidomic data sets. Candidates should hold or be near completion of a PhD in a relevant discipline and should have proven experience of lipid analysis by mass spectrometry.
