POLICY OFFICER AND CLERK TO GOVERNORS

Bishop Grosseteste is a successful university college with a history of financial stability and excellent student recruitment. We are looking to appoint an able and incisive individual to this key new post to work closely with the Principal, senior leadership team and as Clerk to the Governing Body, with the Chair of Governors and sub committees. The central roles are to:

  • help ensure that the University College responds and reacts effectively to externally driven policy developments by keeping abreast of developments in national and regional HE policy, highlighting key information and providing advice as to priorities for further action
  • assist the Principal in agenda setting for the SLT and the provision of appropriate documents for meeting and attend most SLT meetings
  • be Clerk to the Governors, preparing agendas and meeting papers and ensuring that all relevant governance matters are brought to the attention of the Chair
  • engage actively in networks and strategic external events

The successful candidate will have experience in HE or a related sector with the ability to analyse complex information and identify key policy implications. The credibility to work effectively at all levels of the institution, including excellent all round communication and inter-personal skills, is essential.
