Aston University: Delivering World Leading Research
Aston University focuses on high quality, exploitable research that has the potential to have an impact on the real world around us. As a measure of this, in REF 2014 a total of 88.7% of Aston's research was found to have high levels of impact with Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Business all achieving 100% 3* and 4* impact.
We are now further investing in people and facilities, allowing us to focus research in exciting new areas of importance to the world in which we live. As a result we are pleased to be able to invite high quality applications to the following PhD studentships:
Institute of Photonic Technologies
Aston Lab for Intelligent Collectives Engineering
Biomedical Engineering Research Unit
European Bioenergy Research Institute
These studentships are funded by investment from Aston University, EPSRC and co-funding from industrial partners.
We would particularly like to encourage applications from women seeking to progress their academic careers. Aston University is committed to the principles of the Athena SWAN Charter, recognised recently by a prestigious Bronze Award to the University and Silver Award to the School of Engineering Applied Science, in which most of these vacancies are based. We pride ourselves on our vibrant, friendly and supportive working environment and family atmosphere.
