Further investment in teaching excellence

Coventry University has an enviable reputation for high quality education provision. As innovators, ranked highly in the league tables and rated TEF Gold the experience that we offer to our students is very important to us. The Board of Governors and the Vice-Chancellor have chosen to commit further investment to support our continued drive for teaching excellence.

Our student body is joyfully diverse, coming from around 150 countries and every walk of life. The commitment that we have developed to social inclusivity and student success is a defining characteristic of the Coventry way. This further investment is aimed at strengthening our approach to strong course teams that form communities of professional practice and include the students as the next generation of professionals.

We are therefore looking for people, in many discipline areas, who have a real passion for teaching and supporting learning. If you are an outstanding academic in your subject discipline, driven to support students, passionate about your research and motivated to share your love of teaching with colleagues we would like to hear from you.

Our research focus is based within University and Faculty Research Centres. These centres are interdisciplinary and address major societal and technological questions. Most recently we have established a new centre with a focus on global education and educational attainment and we are particularly interested in applicants who bring research expertise to this field.

We are also looking for a significant number of Instructional Designers and Learning Technologists. We are focussed on driving the use of technology in the classroom and will be investing further to support our excellent teams. We are looking for people with an interest in online learning, who will engage with the recently established Coventry University Online, to take a lead role in supporting teaching and student learning and developing approaches that enhance practice.

In addition, and to provide additional support to our academic community, we are looking for several HR professionals working directly within our academic schools, to join our People team. We are looking for proactive, self-starters, with a solid HR background who are interested in developing strong working relationships with our academic leaders to provide the full range of HR support required, including the creation and implementation of action orientated course staffing plans. As ‘champions’ of professional development, these roles will be the link between the schools and our Academic Development team, ensuring our staff keep up-to-date with the latest approaches to teaching practice to ensure and maintain our connection with our students.

The roles below highlight the level of our commitment to his agenda. We would equally welcome your application in any subject area as we have further roles coming along soon.
