Kennedy Scholarships and Frank Knox Fellowships

What are Kennedy Scholarships?
Kennedy Scholarships are part of the British national memorial to President Kennedy and have been offered annually for almost 50 years. They are an academic award for study at two of the world's finest universities - Harvard and MIT - and can be used to fund a wide variety of programmes at MIT and across all the graduate schools within Harvard: from PhD to LLM, from MPH to MArch. They can also fund a Special Studentship for those wanting a general programme of non-degree study. But the founders of the Kennedy Trust and its Trustees since have always viewed the Scholarship as more than an academic prize. It is intended to act as a spur to closer trans-Atlantic relations, and few scholars return without taking up the travel grant and crossing the US, experiencing its wide and varied culture; none return without friendships which last a lifetime and membership of an alumni body in leadership positions across all professions and disciplines.

What are Frank Knox Fellowships?
Frank Knox Fellowships are tenable only at Harvard University. Preference is given to those undertaking full-time degree programmes but these may be taken across the full range of graduate schools. They are offered in Australia, New Zealand and Canada as well as the UK, giving Fellows instant access to a multi-national cohort. “Frank Knox Memorial Fellowships were established in the conviction that co-operation between the British Commonwealth and the United States of America based on an informed and understanding contact of the peoples of these two great countries is an essential to international peace.”
