Northumbria is a research-engaged and business-focused professional university which is strong in the fundamental activities of teaching and research and is international in its operations and reach. 4000 of our students come from outside the European Union to study on campus and a similar number study Northumbria degrees overseas. With a total of 34,000 students from 120 countries, we are the biggest university in the North East of England. Over 90 per cent of our students are in employment, or have gone on to further study, within six months of graduating.

In recent years, Northumbria has invested £18 million in appointing new academic and research staff as we work towards doubling our capacity in research and enterprise over a five year period. We are now seeking to appoint in several areas to support teaching and research which crosses subject boundaries and enhances the learning experience of our students.
