The University is based across two campuses, one in Derby and one in Buxton. Our Derby Campus, which makes up the city’s University Quarter, includes the Kedleston Road, Britannia Mill and Markeaton Street sites and our halls of residence.
Over the last few years, we’ve invested heavily in world-class research, community projects and our facilities, which have helped to make the University bigger and better than ever.
Applied research and employer engagement will play an immensely vital role in the future success of this University, as we enter a new era for Higher Education.
Our researchers have helped bring about more accurate predictions of climate change, a better quality of life for gynaecological cancer patients, some spectacular decorative architecture involving 3D printing techniques, and novel joining processes to create the perfect joints in metals.
We are delighted with the results: between 2008 and 2014 we have more than doubled the number of researchers involved and the number of subject areas in which research was submitted. At the same time, the amount of our research considered at least internationally significant has increased from 66% to 74%.
Going forward, we have ambitious plans for the future, so take a look at our vacancies below and find out how you could be part of them.
