The studentship will provide an important contribution to South West Forum's four year research project funded by the Big Lottery Fund which will explore the: the scale and nature of the economic impact of the interventions and services of a defined group of third sector organisations tackling disadvantage? The ability of third sector organisations individually and collectively to measure and demonstrate the economic (and social) impact of their interventions is especially important at a time of increasingly scarce resources and competition for funding. The PhD will explore some of the findings from the literature that can be used where current approaches have proven inadequate. This research studentship which will investigate effective indicators and methods for third sector organisations delivering social action programmes to measure their impact?
