Applications are invited for a Research Fellow Position in Electrical Engineering to work on an EPSRC-funded multi-disciplinary project of "New Control Methodology for the Next Generation of Engine Management Systems". The overall goal of this project is to use a combination of joint efforts from 3 research groups with expertise of engine technology, control technology and computing algorithms in order to develop and test a new engine control methodology with on-line intelligence built in. The research work will involve working closely with the project collaborators at the University of Birmingham and industrial partners.

You will have a PhD in the subject area of control engineering, electrical engineering or mechtronics or a relevant equivalent qualification/research experience. It is essential to have skills in theoretic analysis, dynamic system mathematical modelling, real-time computer programming and control system design. Evidence of high self-motivation, excellent communication skills and the ability to work to deadlines and within a team are essential.
