Salary range: Lecturer A – starting at £33,230 and rising to £36,298 per annum
Lecturer B – starting at £37,382 and rising to £44,607 per annum

The Department of History at the University of Sussex enjoys an international reputation for intellectual history. Applications from candidates working in all fields of intellectual history after 1500 are welcome.

We seek an ambitious individual, with a demonstrable track record of high quality teaching and research, whose work complements our existing strengths. Candidates are expected to have an emerging profile of high quality publications, and well developed plans for future research.

The successful candidate will join a thriving, collegial department with a commitment to interdisciplinary study and a student community which is both well-qualified and intellectually ambitious. Good communication skills, and an ability to work productively as part of a friendly team-oriented department are essential for this position.
