Applications are invited for a Research Fellowship in Psychology. The project, led by Professor Mike Burton, aims to understand aspects of face recognition in both theoretical and applied settings.  The post will be focussed primarily on laboratory experiments, and candidates will need a good track-record in experimental research.

The Research Fellow will work on the empirical part of the project, primarily conducting laboratory-based experiments. The project also has computational and applied strands and these will involve working with the security services and police. The Research Fellow will be expected to work as part of a team, integrating the experimental work with other strands of the project.

Applicants should have a PhD in Psychology or cognate discipline, and a proven record of experimental research. Some programming experience would be beneficial, preferably in Matlab.

As this post is funded by ERC it will be offered for a period of 4 years.  This appointment will be made subject to the usual terms and conditions of employment of the University.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 6 salary scale (£30,424 - £33,230 per annum) with placement according to qualifications and experience. The appointment will be made subject to the usual terms and conditions of employment of the University.
