Professor Jonathan Grigg(Centre for Paediatrics) has received funding from the Medical Research Council to assess the effect of inhaled diesel soot on dendritic cell and lymphocyte activation in the airways of healthy and asthmatic children. This is a 3 year study based at the Royal London Hospital Whitechapel. The clinical fellow will be responsible for recruiting children, performing sputum inductions, and analysis of markers of dendritic cell activation. The post holder will be based in the Centre for Paediatrics, which is located in a state of the art building within the Blizard Institute. The suitable candidate will be a Specialist Registrar in Paediatrics or equivalent. This exciting opportunity to combine clinical and laboratory research is expected to lead to a higher degree(PhD). The post comes with technical support.

The post is full time for 3 years. Starting salary will be in the range of £30,992 - £37,448 per annum plus £1,470 London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be ableto demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based ImmigrationScheme.
