The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £32,375 - £39,132 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
UCL’s Dept. of Biochemical Engineering and Institute of Neurology are seeking to embark on a collaborative project to create a stable cell line for the treatment of neurologic injury. The multi-disciplinary project aims to make a substantial step towards producing a universal cell line and develop a platform technology that will benefit the emerging cell therapy industry.
We are seeking to appoint a post-doctoral research associate to work on a new project supported by BBSRC. The aim of the project will be to develop a new conditionally immortalised cell line from primary olfactory ensheathing cells for the treatment of neurologic injuries such as spinal cord injury.
This post is funded for 3 years.
The successful candidate should have a PhD or equivalent in cell and molecular biology or a related discipline. He/she will have experience of cell culture using primary cells and/or stem cells. He/she should have a strong understanding of molecular biology and practical experience manipulating primary tissue is desirable. An interest in the translation and commercialisation of cell therapies is essential.
