Job Purpose

To be responsible for the Project Management of the ADVance ITN & IAAP Projects, undertaking a range of planning, administrative and organisational roles. These projects involve 8 academic centres and 4 private companies which train young scientists in adenovirus (AdV) research. The post holder would be expected to work largely independently under the immediate line management of the Principal Investigator of the projects. The projects are funded by the EU and are multi-partner in nature. The role will involve extensive external interaction with multiple academic & industrial partners.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Ensure the effective management of the itinerary of the (Early Stage Researchers/Early Researchers) in conjunction with the PIs in each participating Institute.
2. Ensure development and maintenance of the web pages using T4 software.
3.Responsible for managing the core administrative systems, events and activities of the Advance Project on behalf of the PI Professor Andrew Baker.
4. In collaboration with the PI and EU Team (Finance Office) provide advice based on a full understanding of the specialised field, respond to issues/problems, contribute to project and budget management and ensure completion of deliverables.exchanges.
5. Manage and ensure effective liaison and communications between the projects complex and multiple academic and industrial partners which may involve encountering changing priorities.
 
6. To provide accurate management information on financial and administrative matters to the PI and/or partners conducting analysis and identifying gaps in information.
7. To monitor project milestones and report on any issues on deliverables to the PI.
8. Responsible for devising, timetabling and production of reports and briefings on project which may include updates on deliverables, mid term reviews etc.
9. Maintain a Programme events diary and ensure timely planning of partner activities and their various commitments under the Agreement. These include training events and seminars. Some foreign travel may be involved.
10. Responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the multi-partner network. This will include regular communication with the Network partners, the EU, supporting various events and managing

12. Attend meetings for PI where appropriate.

Standard Terms & Conditions

Salary will be on the Management, Professional and Administrative Grade 7, £32,267-36,298 per annum.
 
Funding for this psition is available from 1 June for 2 years.

New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period of 6 months.
