The Department of Psychology at London South Bank University is seeking to appoint a cognitive/experimental psychologist with an interest in applied research to work as a research fellow collaborating with industrial partners on a BBSRC Technology Strategy Board funded project investigating human factors linked to errors in the coding and labelling of fresh produce.
The successful candidate is likely to have a background in applied cognition, ideally in factors relating to lapses of perception and attention, a strong grounding in research methods and practical experience of mixed-methods research. The research fellow will be expected to review relevant literature, collect data on- site using interviews and observations, design and run laboratory-based experiments, analyse data, contribute to the on-going development of the project and prepare research reports for publication. Experience using eye-tracking equipment is desirable.
Applicants should hold a PhD, or be close to submission, in a relevant area of psychology or human factors research.
The post will entail some travel to sites in Kent and Essex.
