Fixed-term appointment for 2 years (with possibility of 1 year extension)

The Centre for Bio-Inspired Technology at Imperial College London which is led by Professor Christofer Toumazou is accepting applications for a Scientific Writer. This position will be based at the South Kensington Campus and will commence as soon as possible

As a scientific writer the post holder will work with leading academics and staff at the Centre for Bio-Inspired Technology for the writing of journals, grant proposals and other technical articles/reports. In addition, they will provide scientific support for projects and new proposals including multi-investigator and institutional grant applications.

They will be expected to acquire and develop a strong expertise and knowledge across a range of biomedical areas in which they operate.​ The post-holder will be expected to understand the science behind the research and development strategy of the group and become an integral part to it.

You should have a PhD (or equivalent) in Biomedical Engineering or other relevant scientific/engineering subject and a successful track record (proven ability) in scientific writing such as research articles for high impact scientific publications; magazines and editorials; research funding proposals and grant applications, ideally in the field of medical devices and/or biomedical engineering; technical content for websites, brochures and reports and reporting research (or highly scientific or technical content) in layman’s terms. 

Applicants should also have a strong background in biomedical engineering, medical devices and healthcare technology and a broad general knowledge in engineering technology (electronics, IT, mechanics, design) and medicine (physiology, anatomy, genetics).  Applicants must be fluent in English.
