Postdoctoral Researcher in Political Economy

Grade 7: Salary in the range £29,541 - £31,331 p.a.
The Department of Sociology is seeking an enthusiastic quantitative researcher to work with Dr David Stuckler on his EU and ESRC funded projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a project to evaluate the health effects of political factors, lobbying, corporate influence, and social stratification and to contribute to the development of world-leading research programmes in the political economy of global health at the University of Oxford.
The successful candidate will be working with Dr Stuckler to assess the causes and effects of recent policy choices in response to recessions and health risks. They will take responsibility for leading several analyses using innovative text-based datasets and software, social network analysis, and quantitative power-structure analysis. They will also be engaged in writing research proposals on related topics.
The posts are full-time, on a fixed-term contract, commencing 1 July 2013 for 30 months.
