The appointment will be on UCL Grade 6. The salary range will be £26,186 to £30,688 per annum. Appointments will normally be made at the first point of this range, inclusive of London Allowance.
The main interest in the Genetics Research Department’s Molecular Therapy research group is the development of novel therapies for retinal disorders with a major emphasis on translating research into clinical application. It is one of the largest gene and cellular therapy groups in the country.
We are looking for someone who has an interest in working as a research technician. Working in close collaboration with other team members, the post-holder will be involved in the production of gene therapy vectors and the development of new preclinical gene therapy protocols for the treatment of retinal conditions. The post holder may also be involved in the assessment of immune responses to vector and transgene.
The position is funded until 31 July 2016 in the first instance.
Applicants should have an interest in translational research, previous research experience in molecular and cell biology techniques and the ability to work on their own initiative. Experience working with gene therapy vectors, and in immunology and immunological research techniques is desirable.
