We are seeking to appoint an academic facilitator to support the evolving activities of the Global Environment and Society Academy (GESA) within the University of Edinburgh. You will play a central role in transforming GESAs strategy into action by facilitating a multidisciplinary staff & student community and by drawing in significant new resource to the University of Edinburgh.

Specifically, you will: a) foster the creation of new cross-School interdisciplinary MSc courses and programmes that will provide the best possible training for tomorrow’s leaders; b) liaise with colleagues in Alumni and Development, lead fundraising and coordinate applications for studentships, bursaries and research grants, c) facilitate staff and student-led activities and event organisation that builds global connections, in particular at a masters, doctoral and executive education level; d) contribute to the Global Academy websites to ensure that they provide informative, up to date and engaging information on current activities; and, e) represent the University, GESA and the Assistant Principal with external partners.

You will have a PhD in a relevant environmental field and extensive experience in managing cross-disciplinary projects and knowledge exchange activities. You will also have strategic awareness of communication strategies for raising organisational profile, experience of organising stakeholder engagement activities, public engagement events and writing successful funding proposals. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and experience of working within student communities are also desirable.

Salary Range:  Grade UE08, £37,328 - £44,607 pro rata
