University College Dublin and the National Maternity Hospital are seeking an academic and clinical leader in obstetrics and gynaecology with an internationally competitive research profile.

Both organisations are committed to building on a long standing partnership to deliver high quality maternity, infant and patient care services, to advance research which leads to a better understanding of relevant diseases and to create the next generation of clinicians by train medical students in obstetrics and gynaecology.

The Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology will be expected to assume a leadership position in the hospital and the University as well as representing both organisations on national and international advisory boards and professional bodies.

This is a joint academic appointment on a Consultant / Professor* Type B Contract by University College Dublin (18.5 hours per week) and the National Maternity Hospital (18.5 hours per week). Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.

*University appointments are made subject to defined academic criteria and benchmarks and hence UCD reserves the right to appoint at a lower academic rank as appropriate.
