Aston University is seeking to appoint to two academic posts within its Centre for Learning Innovation and Professional Practice (CLIPP). The Director post is an exciting opportunity for an expert in educational development to build on Aston’s strong focus on learning and teaching. This role is key to ensuring that the student experience continuously improves in order to meet the University’s aims as set out in the Aston 2020 strategy. 

The Director of CLIPP will work closely with Schools, Departments and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in providing expert advice on curriculum development and delivering the University’s teaching. An important focus will also be in leading Aston’s Higher Education Academy accredited CPD route for fellowship and running the National Teaching fellowship at Aston, supporting staff to gain accreditation.

The Lecturer in Learning Enhancement and Academic Development will act as Programme Director for the Aston University Certificate in Learning and Teaching as well as contributing to the delivery and assessment of the Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Practice (PGCPP). The postholder will also be involved in a range of activities to support staff provide a high quality learning experience.

For both posts, the successful candidates should have a PhD as well as experience within the disciplines represented at Aston University and in education or a related field. The Director role requires significant demonstrable experience at a leadership level and within higher and/or further education. The Lecturer role requires an individual with experience of delivering an academic development programme within higher education as well as experience of curriculum design and development.
