Web Programmer / Analyst: Online Research Communities

We are seeking an experienced and proficient web programmer and analyst, to provide technical support and web site development for the Online Research Communities project. The successful applicant will work within a team that is extending the use of the experimental Food and Water Security online research guide (FWS-ore) web site, http://fws.aber.ac.uk/, which will demonstrate the ability to place Aberystwyth University’s name at the top of the international list of web-based research guides in the field of Food & Water Security. FWS-ore is based on a collection of online academic papers and books as well as articles in the popular media. Together with annotations from acknowledged experts and users' discussion forums, FWS-ore forms a guide aimed at researchers, students, policy-makers and the business community. Furthermore, the post holder will take a full role in the ICT Development Team as part of the Library and Research Systems Group. They will be involved in wider technical developments around the management of research data.

The project will initially develop the FWS-ore web site and then extend this platform for use by other research communities.

The Web Programmer Analyst for the Online Research Communities Project will work in the Information Services department.
