About the role:
As part of a Knowledge Transfer Project and in partnership with Calex Electronics, we have an opportunity for a high calibre graduate to work with this dynamic company which specialises in building infrared temperature sensors.
You will be willing to get involved in all aspects of Calex Electronics operations, including researching, designing, implementing and monitoring of a business process improvement (BPI) programme that will transform the company’s business systems (e.g. finance/accounting, marketing etc) and commercial processes (work practices and ordering systems) into a resource efficient approach, to reduce carbon emissions and energy costs whilst increasing output and profits. A training budget will also be available to support you throughout the project.
Ideally with a higher degree, you will have a minimum of a 2:1 degree in Accounting, Accounting and Finance, Business Information Systems or a related discipline and A-levels in Mathematics and Physics. You will be customer focussed, and committed to efficiency. From your studies or work experience, you will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the broader business environment and be capable of preparing financial statements, performance analysis and delivering financial projections. Knowledge or experience of managing projects and budgets would be advantageous. Self-motivated and able to work to strict deadlines, you will be an effective communicator with colleagues at all levels. The project will last 18 months in the first instance and, if successful, may lead to an offer of full-time employment with Calex Electronics.
Part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the company partner, this project is a by-product of a Knowledge Transfer scheme and is part of the Anglia Ruskin University Low Carbon KEEP (Knowledge East of England Partnership) programme. You will be based and will work full time at the company’s premises in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire to manage this Knowledge Transfer project whilst being fully employed by our University.
