Salary range: starting at £33,230 and rising to £36,298 per annum

We are seeking an individual to fill a position within the School at the Lecturer level. The position has become available for one year only through the award of a Leverhulme Trust Senior Fellowship to Dr Jessica Horst. Applicants should be able to contribute to the teaching of developmental psychology in the School.

The School of Psychology at the University of Sussex is one of the largest centres for the study of psychology in the UK with considerable strengths in both research and teaching. The School was rated 12th in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise and receives excellent student ratings for its undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. The School offers a highly rated undergraduate degree accredited by the British Psychological Society, a suite of PGT courses and has a substantial group of postgraduate research students, supported in part by an ESRC Doctoral Training Centre.

There are four research groups: Behavioural and Clinical Neuroscience, Cognitive Psychology, Developmental and Clinical Psychology, and Social and Applied Psychology, and a thriving group of postgraduate research students within the school. We also have strong collaborative links with the Schools of Life Sciences, Engineering and Informatics, and with the Brighton and Sussex Medical School, especially through the Clinical Imaging Science Centre.
