Salary range:  Lecturer A starting at £33,230 and rising to £36,298 per annum. Lecturer B starting at £37,382 and rising to £44,607 per annum. Senior Lecturer starting at £45,941 and rising to £53,233 per annum  

The School of Psychology at the University of Sussex is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer/ Lecturer in the area of developmental psychopathology with expertise in the field of behavioural genetics. This post holder will work with Professor Gordon Harold who was recently appointed as Professor of Psychology and Founding Director of the Andrew and Virginia Rudd Centre for Adoption Research and Practice at the University. The post holder will support this major strategic initiative at the University of Sussex and will complement existing expertise within the School of Psychology.

The successful applicant will have an excellent track record of research in the area of developmental psychopathology, experience of working with genetically sensitive research designs and a portfolio of research activity that will facilitate the potential for international research distinction and offer competitive opportunity to secure external research funding. The Lecturer will also demonstrate the skills required to offer teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level and be prepared to work in a multi-disciplinary research environment.

There are four research groups: Behavioural and Clinical Neuroscience, Cognitive Psychology, Developmental and Clinical Psychology, and Social and Applied Psychology, and a thriving group of postgraduate research students within the school. We also have strong collaborative links with the Schools of Life Sciences, Engineering and Informatics, and with the Brighton and Sussex Medical School, especially through the Clinical Imaging Science Centre
