Post-doctoral Research Position

A 30 month post-doctoral position is available in the group of Professor Jonathan Jones. 

This BBSRC funded project is investigate mechanisms by which RPS4/RRS1 activate induction of SA biosynthetic genes upon perception of bacterial effectors AvrRps4 or PopP2. Using transgenic Arabidopsis lines carrying epitope tagged RPS4 and RRS1, the successful candidate will investigate changes in DNA binding of the RPS4/RRS1 complex after elicitation. Experience of or interest in Illumina sequencing and data handling would be an advantage.

Candidates should be highly motivated individuals with a PhD degree together with a background in plant molecular biology, genetics or a closely related field. Salary will be within the UEA Research and Analogous staff Grade 7 scale at between £30,424 and £36,298 per annum. Appointment level will reflect qualifications, skills, knowledge and achievements.
