Pure Marine Gen Ltd and KTP and Business Networks, Queen’s University Belfast

Company/Project Information: We wish to recruit a highly skilled and motivated Graduate to work in Pure Marine Gen Ltd for 51 weeks to develop the design capabilities and analytical tools that will provide a detailed understanding of the interactions that will determine the optimum array layouts for tidal energy turbines.

The company has a good understanding of the software and techniques that could be used to model the wakes produced by tidal energy turbines, but wish to significantly enhance their knowledge and expertise in this area. The work carried out on this 51 week Shorter KTP will develop and implement such a model. 

Pure Marine was founded in June 2007, bringing together commercial and technical expertise from the marine renewables sector to develop the technology and engineering solutions needed to harness wave and tidal energy resources.

Duration: The contract is of 51 weeks duration.

Applicant Profile: We require a Graduate who holds, or is about to obtain in July 2013 at least a 2.1 Honours Degree in a relevant engineering or closely related discipline. Applicants with a 2.2, in addition either one year’s relevant experience or a higher degree will also be considered. Anticipated interview date: Tuesday 21 May 2013

Salary scale: Commencing salary will be in the range of £22,000 - £25,000 per annum. One of the key KTP benefits for graduates is access to a £4,000 training and development budget. It is also worth noting that the majority of KTP Associates are offered full time employment with the company partner at the end of their projects.
