Creative Design and Visual Identity Assistant

Purpose and Main Duties
Working closely with the Creative Design and Visual Identity Manager, you will provide professional creative design services that support Birkbeck’s student recruitment and reputation building aims. You will have the opportunity to design promotional brochures and exhibition displays, and prepare artwork for Birkbeck’s high profile outdoor and digital media advertising campaigns. You’ll also work on developing the effectiveness and visual impact of Birkbeck’s digital channels including the website, videos and podcasts, as we aim to make our digital channels more dynamic so we can better communicate our world-class research and teaching, and inspire more students to study at Birkbeck.
Candidate Requirements
Accustomed to working to tight deadlines, you will have the following skills:
- Experience of producing high-quality designs within a corporate visual identity framework
- A high level of attention to detail
- Proven Quark Xpress, InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere skills, working on the Mac OS platform
- A thorough knowledge of print terms and processes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with staff at all levels
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.

Further Information
Salary: £23,352 rising through incremental progression to a maximum of £27,047 per annum, plus the London Allowance of £2,976 per annum.
