Sheffield Hallam University is one of the UK’s leading providers of education in sport. Further investments in sport also include significant development of new external sports sites and our indoor sport campus based in the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield, one of the UK’s foremost sport venues.
The Academy of Sport and Physical Activity consists of academic programme delivery and three research and consultancy centres, Sport Industry Research Centre, Centre for Sport Engineering Research and Centre for Sport and Exercise Science. We have an excellent reputation for the quality of our teaching and for our innovative approaches to learning, teaching and assessment. We offer the broadest range of sport education with seven undergraduate and four postgraduate programmes covering sport business management, engineering, culture and society, community development, school sport, physical education, coaching, development, physical activity, psychology, biomechanics, physiology and nutrition.
We have areas of world class sport research and consultancy which underpin a significant contribution to the development of the key agendas for sport, physical activity and health. We are also a leading institution in terms of developing proactive, mutually beneficial partnerships with a diverse range of sport agencies to provide innovative learning opportunities for students. We rate highly in the UK for overall sport employability and sport placement is a key part of all our undergraduate provision.
