Salary: €33,975 - €37,750 per annum (commensurate with experience and in line with government pay policy)

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Researcher to the Synthesis and Solid State Pharmaceutical Centre (SSPC), co-funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and a number of pharmaceutical industry partners.

The SSPC is a consortium of leading Irish Universities and Institutes of Technology along with seventeen industry partners and a number of international collaborators. See: www.ul.ie/sspc for further details.

The mission of the SSPC is to transform the Irish Pharmaceutical Sector in order to establish Ireland as the Global Hub of Pharmaceutical Process Innovation and Advanced Manufacturing.

Duties will include: Advanced physiochemical analysis of pharmaceutical materials and application of the fundamental science of crystallisation, crystal engineering, crystal growth, thermodynamics and molecular modelling, presentation of results to academic and industrial partners and the wider academic community and co-supervision and mentoring of postgraduate students

Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics but consideration will also be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Material Science. Candidates should ideally have a degree in Pharmacy. Previous postdoctoral experience in an academic or relevant industrial setting would be advantageous. Previous experience of working in a collaborative manner with researchers in other academic institutions and with industry partners is desirable.
