A position for a Research Associate is available within the Institute of Cell Biology at the University of Edinburgh. This post offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to undertake research within the emergent field of synthetic biology.
This TSB and BBSRC funded feasibility study is a collaboration with local biotech company Ingenza. The project will utilise synthetic biology platform technology and develop synthetic biology techniques in order to optimise the process and products of enzymatic lignin disruption. Laboratory experience and knowledge of basic molecular biology, microbiology and biochemistry techniques is required. The position will entail molecular cloning, plasmid construction and protein overexpression in bacteria and yeast.
Candidates should have, or will shortly obtain a Phd.
The position is full time for up to 18 months.
Salary Scale: £30,424 - £36,298 pa
