The University of Hertfordshire offers an exciting challenge for ambitious business development professionals. A major element in the University’s Strategic Plan is to develop closer links with businesses, the professions and employers.

The University is strengthening its commercial activity through the creation of new Business Development Units to help build profitable partnerships between its academic schools and the key economic sectors where it can achieve the greatest impact.

You will be part of one of these Units responsible for driving forward the University’s commercial income portfolio. You will be a high-calibre graduate with experience and understanding of the needs of public and private businesses. The role requires an individual with excellent communication, co-ordination and organisational skills in order to liaise effectively with internal staff and external organisations at all levels.

The post requires a degree in a related subject (or significant postgraduate experience in a relevant setting), and a track record of securing business within the life science, pharma, healthcare or medical device sectors.

Previous experience of working at the interface between business or industry and education will be a distinct advantage as the role demands the ability to translate the problems and needs of businesses into projects that can be delivered successfully by university staff.
