At NatCen Social Research, we're driven by the belief that social research has the power to make life better. Our research works for society by providing a rich understanding of people's lives and enabling them to have a powerful and influential role in shaping social policy decisions.  Our research is used by policy makers, practitioners, academics, the media and the public as a driving force behind increased understanding of the environment we live in, and how it's changing.

We are looking to expand our existing capacity to design, support and deliver high quality, fit for purpose policy evaluation work, supporting decision makers and practitioners across the public, private and third sectors.  The successful candidate will play a key role in meeting our objectives. She/he will support our Head of Evaluation Research by helping to capture new business opportunities, design quantitative impact evaluations (drawing on experimental and non-experimental methods) and provide expert advice and support to our research and operational staff involved in delivering high quality impact evaluation.

You will need to be able to demonstrate a strong track record in quantitative impact evaluation research with detailed knowledge of experimental and quasi-experimental approaches, understanding a range of methods including statistical matching procedures and estimation of treatment impacts using techniques such as difference-in-differences.  A good understanding of the principles and key issues in the design of impact evaluation is essential.  Some previous experience of winning new business, for example, as part of proposal/tender writing team is also required.   Prior experience of teaching and/or delivering training in evaluation or quantitative research is highly desirable

If you believe you have the experience and qualities we are looking for then please get in touch.
