Based within the School of Management and Languages at Heriot-Watt University, the Economics PhD programme is now inviting applications for full-time PhD scholarships.
Economics
Applications are welcome across the field of economics, including in particular energy and the environment, econometrics (notably spatial econometrics), development (from household behaviour and the survey-based collection of micro data, to wider demographic issues) and macro and monetary economics (notably learning in monetary policy and monetary policy frameworks).
Successful students would commence in September 2013 and would be expected to make a contribution to teaching and teaching-related activities in the Department of Accountancy, Economics, and Finance or, at the discretion of the Head of School, to support a Research Centre in return for a fee-waiver, a maintenance allowance of £13,590 per annum and a research support allowance of £2,250 over the registered period of study of three years.
