Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Science Education

The School of Education is a leading provider of primary, secondary and early childhood teacher education courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Courses are offered via on-campus and flexible online modes. A broad depth of expertise in multiple disciplines and a strong enquiry culture exists in the School across all key fields of education and research. The School is seeking to appoint one staff member at either Senior or Lecturer level. Applicants at all levels of appointment must have school teaching qualifications and demonstrated successful teaching experience, sound knowledge of a range of research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative analysis; knowledge of key research, theories, policies and practices, including current trends, challenges and reforms in science education and, where applicable, education for sustainability; success working in collaborative teaching and/or research teams; and a record of scholarly publications in refereed journals.

At Senior Lecturer Level, applicants must have a doctoral qualification in a relevant field of study and demonstrated successful supervision of Higher Degree Research Students. At Lecturer Level, applicants must have a doctoral qualification (or evidence of near completion of a doctorate) in a relevant field of study and demonstrated experience in the use of ICT applications in teaching.

Salary: $80,513 to $95,421 per annum (Lecturer), $98,401 to $113,312 per annum (Senior Lecturer) plus 17% employer superannuation and optional salary packaging.
