Research Associate (process evaluation) for the “Bristol Girls Dance Project” School-based cluster randomised controlled trial

We are seeking an enthusiastic research associate to undertake a process evaluation for the Bristol Girls Dance Project (BGDP), a School-Based research programme which is known locally as the Active-7 project (www.active-7.org). The BGDP programme has been awarded a National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Public Health Research Programme grant. The BGDP is a 28-month study that focuses on increasing levels of physical activity of Year 7 girls via an after-school dance intervention in the greater-Bristol area. The study will involve approximately 540 children from 18 secondary schools.

The successful candidate will have completed a PhD that used qualitative research methods and have experience of collecting, coding and analyzing qualitative data in a health research setting. The main tasks will involve developing topic guides and data collection tools; conducting qualitative research (interviews and focus groups) with project participants and collaborators; coding and analysing data and writing papers for publication and contributing to writing study reports. This post is for 24-months, starting August 2013.

Salary: £34,223 - £36,298
