Background
English Gate Academy is a private educational and training company founded in May 2010 by Dr. Ahmed Al Eisa, former president of Al Yamamah University, who has more than 20 years' of experience in leading educational and training institutions. EGA’s mission is to provide high quality English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and General English training to female employees of private and governmental agencies in order to develop the employees’ English language skills in their related professions. Programs are designed to meet the specific English language needs of women in their areas of specialization.

Position Announcements: ESL Instructors immediate and Fall 2013 positions open, currently, we are seeking instructors for our female participants.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include 20 hours of teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses or general English language courses. Administrative duties include record keeping and report writing; participation in program activities (training, orientation, workshops, testing and placement, etc.); participation in meetings (with students, faculty, parents, and others on and off campus); keeping office hours to advise/ counsel students who may need extra help. Instructors may also be required to serve on committees and participate in on- and off-site activities and events.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Near Native English Speaker with passport from a primarily English speaking country
  • BA or BS degree from an accredited university (ESL, Education or English related preferred)
  • Strong computer skills with experience using technology in the classroom
  • 120-hour TEFL certification or CELTA with teaching practicum (no purely online certificates are accepted or less than 120 hours)
  • Have teaching experience with adult learners (three years minimum preferred)
  • Be creative and flexible in order to adapt to an experiential, project- and needs-based approach to teaching
  • Be committed to students, the profession and to a learner-centered teaching method
  • Be sensitive to cultural differences (able to adapt to a way of life requiring understanding, conformity and flexibility)
  • Preferred: Have MA in TESL/TEFL, Applied Linguistics or in Education with TESOL specialization and/or DELTA (Online degrees without an on-campus, residential component and less than one year are not accepted) 

Salary, Benefits and Terms

  • $35,000-$40,000 without Masters or Delta, with Masters $40,000 to $45,000 USD at 3.75 SAR per $1, tax-free salary per annum depending on experience and qualifications
