The Theatre Programme is part of the dynamic new Performance Centre at Falmouth University and works closely with colleagues in Dance, Music and Production. Our geographical location in Cornwall is already noted for its extraordinary creative climate and cultural opportunities.
Expanding the legacy of theatre practice fostered at Dartington College of Arts, we offer three distinct and inter-connected courses in Theatre, Acting, and Music Theatre. The Theatre Programme at Falmouth prepares resilient, adventurous and versatile contemporary theatre makers and performers who are well equipped to contribute to the practical and conceptual challenges of the arts and related cultural industries.
We are looking for applicants with substantial teaching experience in Higher Education, an excellent knowledge of practical and theoretical approaches to acting in contemporary and devised theatre, and/or extensive professional theatre and performance experience.
Candidates should have experience in the teaching of Acting and Performance in Higher Education and/or equivalent professional experience and have a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject or be able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience.
The post offers a unique opportunity to develop theatre practices in relation to landscapes, seascapes, rural and virtual communities as well as mainframe touring and production venues.
