The University of Surrey is an international university with a world-class profile and an enterprising spirit. Inventive and forward-thinking, its heritage shows a recurring theme of doing things differently and achieving notable results.
In August 2011 the University of Surrey launched the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, led by Prof. David Allen. This exciting development involved the creation of three new schools: The Surrey Business School; the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management; the School of Economics; and a new Department of Health Care Management and Policy, along with the existing School of Law.
The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management has a world-wide reputation for excellence and is seeking to expand in order to offer our students an enhanced learning experience through greater connections with the tourism and hospitality industry. We are now seeking to appoint a tutor to join our vibrant and highly successful subject group. Details of our activities, our specialisms and our successes can be found on our website www.surrey.ac.uk/shtm
The successful candidate will be able to bring the experience of the industry into the classroom and prepare students for the world of employment. You will be involved in supervising students and will act as a Tutor for Professional Training Year Students and carry out placement visits to our students across the world.
You should have the ability to contribute broadly to our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in tourism and hospitality, but we would be particularly keen to hear from candidates who specialise in at least one of the areas of finance, strategy, organisational behaviour, sustainability, entrepreneurship or social media/technology.
