Maternal, Child and Women’s Health/PMTCT Clinical Advisor

This is a contract post until 30 September 2017 with the possibility of extension, subject to the availability of funds.
Requirements:
- Qualification as a Medical Practitioner;
- registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa;
- extensive clinical experience in Maternal and Reproductive Health, infant nutrition and PMTCT programmes;
- an excellent grasp of clinical issues and current literature on HIV/AIDS treatment;
- training experience;
- clinical mentorship and supportive supervision experience;
- at least three years’ experience in HIV and Public Health programming;
- exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills;
- strong interpersonal skills;
- a strong written and spoken command of English;
- a high level of proficiency in relevant computer applications, particularly MS Office;
- willingness and availability to travel 40% of the time, predominantly within South Africa;
- international candidates must obtain a South African employment permit;
- a relevant postgraduate qualification in epidemiology or public health;
- a proven ability to do data analysis and interpretation to guide Maternal, Child and Women’s Health/PMTCT interventions.
Commencement of duties: 1 July 2013 or as soon as possible thereafter
