The Department of Journalism Studies is widely recognised as one of the leading departments of its kind in the UK with an excellent network of national and international contacts in both the media industry and the academic world. The most recent Research Assessment Exercise rated 75% of the department´s research outputs as “world leading” or “internationally excellent” and for the past four years the department has topped the National Student Survey, with a current satisfaction rate of 97 per cent.
We are now seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Journalism Studies who can join our academic team and enhance existing Masters provision, as well as make an active and sustained contribution to expanding the scope and range of research and teaching activities in the department.
You will be expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and to demonstrate a potential to achieve international research excellence in Journalism Studies or a related field through a range of scholarly activity which will include high-quality research publications and the pursuit of funding opportunities. You will have a PhD, or be near completion of a PhD, in a relevant subject area (or equivalent qualifications/experience) with proven teaching ability in the field of journalism studies or a related discipline.
